Class D

A class DZ license will allow you to operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of cargo, and must have good communication skills to receive and relay information to a centralized dispatcher.

(This program does not require approval under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005).

A career as a commercial driver can offer you stable employment and can provide long-term financial security.

HOW LONG IS THE COURSE AND WHAT DOES IT COST?

Depending on your experience (or lack of experience) you can register for a combination of training programs that suit your needs.

Each Driving Lesson is scheduled for 1 Full Hour.

Topics covered during training include Vehicle Inspections, On the Road Training and Yard Work and Safety Procedures.

*Note: Training for this D Class program is completed on a truck equipped with airbrakes.  Students interested in completing our D class course will be required to also enrol in their Z (Airbrake Endorsement)  training in order to challenge the MTO’s D Class Road Test.

Additional Hour (One on One) Training $138.90 Tax Included

WHAT WILL I GRADUATE WITH?

Upon successfully completing a Road Test with the MTO (Ministry of Transportation Ontario) Students will receive an Ontario DZ Driver’s License.

WHAT DO I NEED BEFORE I CAN BEGIN?

  • Valid Ontario Class ‘G’ License or higher
  • Knowledge verification of Rules of the Road and Signs. Handbook and materials provided to help in passing the knowledge tests.
  • MTO approved Medical Form completed

Commercial DZ Drivers fill a number of very important jobs within all cities including but not limited to: Fire-Truck Drivers, Waste Removal, Transporting materials to and from Construction sites, Local Delivery Trucks, Dump Truck Drivers, and many more!
